
Beth Youmans, PhD, RYT
Beth is a certified Yoga Alliance instructor (500 hr) and the director/founder of Yoga Central. Beth has maintained a meditation practice for over 30 years. Her interest and dedication to the physical aspects of yoga took a 20 year hiatus but was re-kindled in the early 1990’s. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Ph.D. in Psychology, Beth has been able to incorporate her mind-body approach to health and wellness in a wide variety of settings (corporate, medical/mental health), providing a practical approach to dealing with the stresses of life . She continues to keep up-to-date with the exciting research that is being done in the area of mind-body medicine . She is a popular speaker, making the serious aspects of managing life’s challenges a fun, interactive and useful experience for participants. Daniel Farrell, CYT
Daniel is a Certified Yoga Alliance Yoga instructor. He has been practicing yoga and meditation for 3 years. Daniel has a science background with education in Molecular Biology and Chemistry. Daniel also studied music performance (trumpet) and was a U.S. Army Combat Medic. Since his personal confirmation that Yoga (Raja Yoga) is a spiritual science of self-discovery and de-conditioning, Daniel pursues Yoga as a path of growth and seeks to develop compassion and service.
Joni Knapp, CYI
Joni is a certified yoga instructor, registered with The Yoga Alliance. Her approach to yoga is a blend of mindful movement, breath awareness, self-acceptance, and compassion. Joni’s classes are inspiring and filled with warmth and encouragement. Joni is also an avid hiker and combines these two passions by leading yoga/hiking programs through local parks.
Becky
Moates, CYT
Becky Moates is a certified Soma Yoga instructor, as well as a Registered
Yoga Alliance Teacher at the 500 level. She was introduced to yoga after the
birth of her first child and has been practicing and teaching for 4 years.
Since then, Becky has had two more children, and has drawn greatly from her
yoga experience to ride the turbulent waves of pregnancy, childbirth, and
parenting. The style of yoga Becky practices and teaches is based in compassion
and awareness. She encourages her students to tune into the wisdom of their
own bodies and to explore their limits in a gentle and caring approach. Above
all, she enjoys introducing the limitless opportunities for self inquiry and
development that the path of yoga offers.
Christopher Plummer
A student of T’ai Chi Chuan for many years, Christopher Plummer has studied several Yang family forms, the traditional Chen family and Cheng Man Cheng ‘long’ forms, two person sparring, Da Liu, ‘push hands’, and the T’ai Chi weapon forms: sword and staff. Mr. Plummer also practices Qui Gong (sometimes called Chi Kung or “T’ai Chi breathing”) and Taoist meditation. A respected teacher in corporate fitness programs at Merck and Sanofi-Aventis, he has taught T’ai Chi for the Jointure Adult Education program in Somerville , NJ and has been affiliated with Yoga Central since 2004.
Lynne LaSpina, CYT
Lynne has her beginner thru intermediate Pilates certifications taught by a student of Joe Pilates and her 200HR certification in Kripalu Yoga. She has been teaching in the Hunterdon and Somerset counties for 4 years. Lynne has a varied career background in medical laboratory science, computer programming, and early childhood education which enables her to teach with compassion, detail, and knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Lynne offers her students knowledge of how to care for their bodies, minds, and spirits with focus on fun and playfulness.
Martha Watson, RYT
Martha Watson is a certified Hatha yoga teacher registered with Yoga Alliance. Martha completed her training at Devalila Yoga in Belle Mead, NJ. Martha
integrates her love of hiking and yoga by co-leading (with Joni Knapp) hikes that include yoga as part of the experience. Martha experienced first hand the calm, centering effect of yoga early in her own practice and enjoys bringing that awareness to others in a compassionate way. She encourages her students to enjoy their yoga experience by tailoring their practice to their own body type and needs, incorporating breath and meditation as a way to transform a physical practice to a complete mind/body transformation.
