Gentle stretches (to allow the body’s energy to flow) balanced by restorative poses (to allow that energy to go where it is most needed in the body). Poses are designed to encourage the body to relax, rest and heal.
Restorative Yoga is active relaxation. The body is supported by blocks or blankets in specific poses. By supporting the body by props, we alternately stimulate and relax the body to move toward balance.

Meditation is not mysterious.  It is a simple practice with potentially profound effects.  This class is appropriate if you are a seasoned meditator, a beginner or just curious about meditation.  Participants will experience mindfulness, guided meditation and other traditions in a supportive, informal environment – discussion and questions encouraged. 

T’AI CHI CHIH®: JOY THRU MOVEMENT

Experience joy thru movement as we practice 19 gentle, fluid movements in the non-martial art of T’ai Chi Chih, a moving meditation.  These movements can be performed by individuals of most any ability and age, seated or standing.  Many physical, mental, emotional and spiritual benefits have been reported in this evidence-based practice.  Individuals have been able to reduce stress, pain, regulate blood pressure, increase balance, mental alertness, energy, creativity and peak performance. Clinical studies from the University of California at Los Angeles have shown that T’ai Chi Chih can enhance the immune system, relieve depression and improve the quality of sleep.

Dr. Janet M. Oussaty is an accredited T’ai Chi Chih and Seijaku (Advanced T’ai Chi Chih) instructor.  Janet assists with the preparation of teachercandidates and has hosted the International T’ai Chi Chih Teachers’ Conference, TCC Intensive Workshop, Seijaku Accreditation and Basic Course. She has been teaching TCC for over eighteen years.

A Journey Through the Chakras

Chakras are energy centers in your body that affect you physically, emotionally, and spiritually. This unique class uses yoga poses, visualization and breathing techniques to help you bring balance to each of the Chakra locations in your body. We will move each through of the Chakra locations in your body talking about the ways they affect the body in and out of balance. The class will bring you to a place of balance and serenity.  Appropriate for total beginners and experienced students.

Reiki Experience

Align your body, mind and spirit in this soothing class. Enjoy a short balancing meditation and stretch, then be led into a series of releasing poses as Reiki energy is administered. You will leave feeling blissfully relaxed, renewed and restored.
