Roll Into The Weekend, with Ana Giametta, RYT

Foam rollers have been used as therapeutic props for a long time and the benefits are many. Rolling improves blood and lymphatic circulation, and stimulates the stretch reflex in muscles, reducing pain and increasing the range of motion.  Most importantly, you leave feeling fabulous!

This session will show you how to give yourself a deep tissue massage and relax deeply. We have added a few new gentle rolls for a gentler experience.


No previous experience is necessary.


*We will be using a styrofoam roller * (white, 6” wide x 36” long).

If you are buying a roller, we need to know as soon as possible.   


Not recommended with people with osteoporosis or herniated discs unless you bring a note from your Doctor.

Beginners' T'ai Chi Chih,

Wednesdays, July 12th - August 2nd

Daytime - 11:15 am - 12:15 pm

Evening - 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

$50 for 4 sessions

Feeling stressed? Low energy? T'ai Chi Chih is a series of 19 movements and 1 pose that activate, circulate and balance the intrinsic energy of the body known as chi. Considered a moving meditation, it offers many physical, mental, emotional as well as spiritual benefits and can be performed seated and while standing. Scientific studies, for example, have shown that T'ai Chi Chih has enhanced sleep, the immune system response and depression, anxiety symptoms in the elderly.

 

T'ai Chi Chih has been endorsed as a positive and beneficial practice by The Arthritis Foundation, The American Medical Association, The Mayo Clinic Health Letter and the Tufts University Health and Nutrition Letter. Publications from UCLA's Neuropsychiatric Institute have shown the positive effects of TCC on the elderly.   An instructional series on "T'ai Chi Chih: Joy Thru Movement" has been televised by PBS for over 14 years.
